The Almond Blossom kimono is based on Vincent van Gogh's painting Almond Blossom. The kimono features blossom branches on a turquoise blue background with natural green and white tones. Vincent painted one of his favorite subjects: large, blooming branches against a blue sky. He created this painting as a gift to celebrate the birth of his godson Vincent Willem, who was also named after him. As a symbol of young life, Vincent chose the branches of the almond tree, one of the earliest blooming trees, which announces spring as early as February. With the subject, the sharp outlines and the placement of the tree in the painting, Van Gogh was inspired by Japanese print art. High-quality The Almond Blossom kimono is made of 100% high-quality Tencel with a quality of 115 g/m2. The kimono can be washed with similar colors at up to 30 degrees and is suitable for tumble drying. Sustainable material Tencel is made from eucalyptus wood, which is grown under much better controlled and regulated conditions. The chemicals used in this process are filtered and reused, unlike many other raw materials where the chemicals end up back in nature. Tencel is therefore much more sustainable.
